Description:

An alternator or generator that uses alternating current (AC) to generate direct current (DC) is equipped with a rectifier bank assembly.

Function:

Using semiconductor diodes, rectifies the multi-phase AC power produced in the alternator windings into DC electricity.

Diode Types:

Full-wave bridge rectifiers are setups made of silicon diodes. The diodes are high-capacity.

Voltage Regulation:

To keep the DC output voltage constant, feedback circuits regulate the alternator field. Filtering: The ripple on the DC output is filtered by capacitors and inductors.
